Stride Rite has issued a voluntary recall of “Joanna” Girl’s Sandals due to a choking hazard posed by the metal flower on the shoe, which can detach. The company is working with the CPSC to resolve the matter.

To this date, the company has received six reports of the flower detaching from the sandal and eleven reports of the flowers becoming loose. However, there have been no reports of injury.

The recall involves “Joanna” girl’s sandal. They come in white with a silver-colored metal flower and brown with a copper-colored metal flower. The style number is CG40723 (white) and CG40725 (brown).

Parents and caregivers are urged to stop using the recalled shows and to contact the company to receive a prepaid envelope to return the shoes. Upon receiving the shoes, the company will send a voucher to consumers for the purchase price that can be used in Stride Rite stores or online at striderite.com
