A wheelchair-bound man was struck and killed by a car while crossing a busy Brooklyn street on Tuesday evening, according to New York Police.
The man, 49, was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after the accident.
The accident happened as he crossed Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights against the light, just after 8:00 p.m. He dodged two cars as he crossed the road but was struck by a Mazda heading east which threw him some 50 feet in the air.
The unidentified driver was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, said police. More charges may be pending.
