A man, of East Setauket, was arrested and charged
with driving
while intoxicated
on Thursday, after he lost control of his vehicle on the
Northern State Parkway east of Wolf Hill Road, according to state police.

The driver and the passenger were both injured when
his car struck the center median guardrail, veered into oncoming traffic and
overturned on the parkway, police said.

Brentwood State Police troopers responded to the
scene to investigate the cause of the accident.

Both the driver and his passenger, 30, also of East Setauket, were transported
to Huntington Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

Upon release from the hospital, the driver was
arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was scheduled for arraignment
Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip.
