A 28-year-old man from Irving was killed in a car accident on Saturday morning. The accident occured on Route 20. Only one car was involved in the accident.
The vicim:
was driving east on Routes 5 and 20 around 2 a.m. when he lost control of his car, went off the south side of the road and struck and severed a telephone pole.
The car then rolled several times and stopped after it hit a tree. There was also a passenger in the vehicle. Both were thrown from the vehicle. The driver died at the scene. The passenger was taken to a hospital for treatment. It is unknown if they were wearing seatbelts. The police are still investigating the accident.
