The mother of 15-month-old toddler is upset after restaurant staff gave her child alcohol in his sippy cup.
According to AOL News, the incident occurred at an Applebee’s restaurant in Madison Heights outside Detroit, MI after Taylor Dill-Reese ordered her son Dominic a kid’s meal with apple juice as the drink. Restaurant staff served their drinks and the child began acting strange, talking to walls and laying his head on the table. Dill-Reese thought he was just tired. When he would not eat his food, she became suspicious, tasted her son’s drink and found it a margarita instead of apple juice.
Dill-Reese notified the Applebee’s manager and demanded he do something. He apologized and replied he did not know what to do.
The police were called and the child transported to the hospital, where tests revealed he had a blood alcohol level of .10, legally drunk for an adult.
“Obviously any situation like this is unacceptable and we take it very seriously. We are working with local authorities and conduction our own investigation so we can assess exactly what happened,” said an email to clickondetroit.com from Applebee’s corporate office.
Clickondetroit.com reports that doctors think Dominic will recover, but could have died if he had drunk the entire cup served to him.
The incident may have occurred when employees mislabeled the margarita mix as apple juice.

Hopefully the child is ok. I was amazed at the poor protection here. You really have to watch out all the time as a parent.

Many incompetent people work and many other applebees, this was clearly and accident, but because it could have been avoided i think that there should be an investigation into why it was a margarita instead of apple juice. This obviously shouldn't have happened. And people should have a brain not to put a margarita into a child cup, in this case it would be the bartender or whoever poured the drink themselves.

i think the parents had something to do with it bartenders do mess up and they know what apple juice looks like and what beer looks like
