A woman has been arrested for alleged “slip and fall schemes,” according to North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Jim Long.
The woman, 34, was arrested by investigators with the Department of Insurance on Thursday, August 28th. She is being charged with three counts of obtaining property by false pretense.
She was taken to Guilford County jail where she was processed and released under a written promise to appear at her court date which is scheduled for October 10.
She confessed to staging falls at Walmart, Pier 1 and Dollar General stores in Rowan County from November 2006 to September 2007. She received some $12,000 from the stores as compensation for her “injuries.”
