iSi North America Inc., working in cooperation with CPSC, has recalled Twist'n Sparkle Home Beverage Carbonation System plastic bottles due to an explosion hazard when the bottles are under pressure.

The company, to date, is aware of nine incidents in which the bottles have exploded. In three of those incidents the consumers suffered minor injuries.

The recalled products are plastic bottles used in the iSi Twist’n Sparkle Beverage Carbonation System. The affected systems were included in the Starter Set with model numbers 1005 (Includes 1 reusable bottle) and 1006 (Includes 2 reusable bottles).

The items were sold at Williams-Sonoma, QVC and various other national retailers and Web sites from June 2010 to March 2012.

Consumers are urged to discontinue using the recalled products and to contact iSi or the store of purchase for more information on a refund or store credit. For products that were purchased online, consumers should contact the online retailer for return instructions. Please note that the U.S. Postal Service doesn’t accept CO2 gas charges for shipment by mail.
