Approximately 2,000 Thermador brand ceramic cooktops, manufactured by BSH Home Appliances Corporation, have been recalled due to potential fire hazard.
While switched off, the cooktop can come on by itself, creating a potential fire hazard if flammable items are left on or near the cooktop.
The cooktops have electric and induction heating elements with a black ceramic glass surface. The recall involves models: CIT302DS/01 and CIT362DS/01 with date codes that range between 8606 and 8612.
The cooktop should be disconnected at the circuit breaker when not in use. Consumers should contact BSH Home Appliances for a free in-home repair kit.
