Barneys New York, working in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), issued a voluntary recall of large scented candles, because they can burn at a higher than expected flame which poses a fire and burn hazard.

At the time of this writing the company has received one report about a consumer suffering a hand burn. The agency urges consumers to discontinue using the recalled candles and to contact or return them to Barneys for a refund.

The recall involves Fornasetti Profumi Grande scented candles with one of four Fornasetti designs. The CPSC News Release also includes photos of the candles for easy reference.

Consumers are directed to contact Barneys directly for more information by calling (888)222 – 7639 or by visiting their Web site at www.barneys.com for more information about this recall. In the meantime, the agency urges discontinuing the use of the recalled candles.
