Toilet and Cabinet Locks by Dorel Juvenile Group (DJG) have been voluntarily recalled because the locks can be disengaged by young children, posing a risk of injury and/or access to dangerous and unsafe items.

To this date, DJG has received 110 reports of the toilet locks failing to secure the lid. Additionally, the company has received 278 reports of the cabinet locks failing to secure the cabinet. In one case, a 13-year-old boy gained access to small, toxic beads from a craft kit. He was checked and released from the hospital.

The recall involves Safety 1st Sure Fit toilet locks with model numbers 48003 and 48103. The recall also involves Safety 1st cabinet side locks with model numbers 12013 and 12014. The items were sold at various stores including Target, Bed Bath and Beyond and Walmart.

Consumers are urged to remove the locks and dangerous items from the cabinets until the locks can be replaced by contacting DJG for a free replacement lock. For more information, call (877) 416-8105 or visit them online at www.djgusa.com.

In March, 900,000 Safety 1st Push ‘N snap cabinet locks were recalled also due to lock failure.
