Electric breast pump AC/DC power adapters have been recalled by Playtex Manufacturing, in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), due to the risk of potential electric shock.

At this time, there have been no reported injuries, according to the agency.

This recall involves adapters manufactured from November 2012 through July 2013. The items can be identified by product serial number (P12324-XXXX through P13205-XXXX). Alternatively, the product can be identified by adapter production code (1241 through 1324). They were sold with the Playtex Nurser Deluxe Double Electric Breast Pump, they were NOT sold separately.

Consumers should contact Playtex to arrange a free replacement, by calling 888-207-1429 or by visiting them online at www.playtexproducts.com. The recalled adapters should not be used if it displays signs of separating.

Consumers are urged to report any adverse events or quality control problems to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting Program online, or over the phone at 1-800-332-1088. Product labels can be viewed on the FDA website for help identifying the recalled products.
