Sandbox Medical has issued a voluntary recall of more than 6,000 pacifier clips due to a choking hazard to young children should the clip break apart.

To this date, there have been no reports of injury, but the company has received two reports that the clip broke during use.

The Cheaper Keeper pacifier clip, which attaches a pacifier to the child’s clothing, is involved in the recall. The recalled items were sold on the Sandbox Baby’s Web site at www.gumdroppacifier.com during February and March of 2011.

Consumers are advised to discontinue use of the recalled clips and to discard them and to contact the company for a free replacement.

Contact Sandbox Medical at (800) 396-1550 for more information or visit them online at www.gumdroppacifier.com. View photos of the recalled items on the CPSC Web site.
