Wonderful Year Inc., working in cooperation with the CPSC, issued a voluntary recall of office chairs in the United States and Canada due to a defect in the base of the chair that can cause it to separate, posing a fall hazard.
To date, the company has received 11 reports of the chairs breaking and consumers falling, while seated. Minor injuries and abrasions were also reported.
The recall involves Office Depot brand leather desk chairs with SKU number 130548. “REG No. PA-25498 (CN)” and “Made in China” are printed on a label which can be found under the seat.
Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled chairs and to contact Office Depot to receive a $55 store- card that can be used for store merchandise OR a replacement chair.
