Due to a possible fire hazard, The Holmes Group of Milford, Mass. has recalled 300,000 oil-filled electric heaters.
The hazard is reported to be a “poor electrical connection within the heater,” which can lead to overheating and possible fire and burn dangers. The company has apparently received at least 59 incident reports involving this defective product. The incidents include burns and property damage.
Holmes is offering free replacement heaters and consumers should call (800) 306-2471 for more information about the product recall.
