H&M Hennes & Mauritz, issued a voluntary recall of children’s water bottles, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), due to a choking hazard posed by the bottle’s spout, which can break off.

To this date, the company has received one report of an incident in which the sprout broke off in the child’s mouth while the child was drinking from it. However, there have been no reports of injury.

The recall involves 16 oz. water bottles that are pink or blue plastic with a crackle design. The CPSC News Release includes a photo of the recalled items for reference.

The agency urges consumers to stop using the recalled bottles and to return them to H&M for a refund. For more information, consumers should call the company toll-free at (855) 466-7467 or on their website www.hm.com.
