Select General Electric brand coffee makers have been voluntarily recalled by Walmart Stores, in cooperation with the CPSC, due to a fire and burn hazard.
To date the company has received 83 reports of the coffee makers overheating, melting, smoking, burning and fire, including three reports of minor burn injuries to consumers.
The recall involves about 900,000 General Electric-brand 12-cup coffee makers sold exclusively at Walmart Stores. The CPSC News Release includes affected model numbers and photos to help identify the affected coffee makers.
Consumers should stop using the recalled items and return them to any Walmart store for a full refund.
