In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Lowe’s announced a voluntary recall of more than 84,000 Folding Directors Chairs because the back support can break, posing a fall hazard.
The recalled chairs were imported by L G Sourcing, Inc. and manufactured by White Tiger Co. They were sold nationwide at Lowe’s stores from June through July 2009.
To this date, the company has received at least ten reports of the chairs breaking but there have been no reported injuries.
Red and blue folding director’s chairs with white frames are included in the recall. “Garden Treasures” is printed on the product packaging.
Consumers should return the recalled chairs to any Lowe’s store for a full refund. In the meantime, to avoid injury, the chairs should not be used.
Consumer Information: Contact White Tiger at (877) 251-5558 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. PT, or visit www.lowes.com for more information.
