Fluke Corp., in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fluke VoltAlert Voltage Detectors because they can fail to indicate live voltage which can result in serious injury or death from electrical shock.
To this date, there have been no reports of injuries associated with the recall.
The recall involves about 33,000 Fluke voltage testers that look similar to a pen with a yellow, white and gray body (photos can be found on the CPSC Web site for reference.) They carry the following model/item number: 1AC-AI.
Consumers should contact Fluke to arrange a free replacement. But, in the meantime, the recalled products should not be used to avoid injury.
For more information, call Fluke at (888) 983-5853 or visit their Web site at www.fluke.com/1AC-A1recall.
