Burien Floor Lamps have been recalled – in cooperation with the CPSC – due to a shock and fire hazard regarding the on/off foot switch of the lamp which can fail or melt.
To this date, the company knows of three incidents in which the switches have melted. One incident involved property damage. Consumers should stop using the recalled lamps immediately and unplug them. The recalled items should be returned to the store for a free repair. If the lamps were purchased online, the company should be contacted for further information.
The recall involves 4 Burien model floor lamps with individual light sockets and white shades with model number 1117 and manufacture dates between 2010.11 (Nov. 2010) and 2012.09 (Sept. 2012).
