Gree issued an expanded recall of more than 2 million dehumidifiers in the U.S. and 55,000 in Canada, because they have the potential to overheat, smoke and catch fire, posing the risk of burn and fire hazards.

To date, between both recalls, there have been more than 471 reported incidents with 121 reported fires with property damage totaling more than 4 million. Consumers are urged to immediately unplug the dehumidifiers and discontinue use until they can call the company for a refund.

The recalled items were sold at several stores including Walmart and Sam Stores under several brand names. A complete list can be viewed on the CPSC Website with photos for reference.

For more information, Gree can be contacted at (866) 853-2802 or online at www.greeusa.com and look for Recall information.

The CPSC is charged with protecting the public, if you have suffered an injury or experienced any adverse incidents, you can and should report it online at www.SaferProducts.gov.
