Conair Corp. has announced a voluntary recall of Lysol Steam Cleaning Mops because hot water mixed with Lysol can spurt out and rupture the product, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
To this date, the company has received 14 reports of hot water forcefully spilling from the water compartment. Two injuries required medical attention for minor burns.
The recall involves the Lysol Steam Cleaning Mop – Model No. SM10L or SM10LR. They were sold nationwide at mass merchandise stores from September 2006 through September 2009.
To avoid injury, consumers are advised to stop using the recalled product and to contact Conair for a free replacement.
