Classic wood highchairs have been recalled by Graco in the United States and Canada because the seat can loosen or detach, posing a fall hazard.
To date, the company has received 58 consumer complaints of which nine included reports of children falling as the seat detached from the base, resulting in bumps, bruises and scratches. One report, in Canada, involved a child suffering a concussion.
The recall involves Graco brand Classic Wood Highchairs with the following model numbers – 3C00BPN, 3C00BPN TC, 3C00CHY, 3C00CHY TC, 3C00CPO or 3C00CPO TC. The recalled highchairs were sold at several retail stores nationwide including Babies R Us and online retailers including Target.com and Walmart.com.
Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled seats and to contact Graco for a free repair kit. For more information, Graco should be called directly at (800) 345-4109. Alternatively, more information about this recall can be found on the company’s web site at GracoBaby.com.
