Target Corp. has issued a voluntary recall of Circo Children’s Task Lamps, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), due to a risk of fire posed by the lamps overheating.
According to the agency, the lamps may overheat causing the adhesive inside the lamp socket to melt which can cause it to flow into the bulb socket gluing the bulb in place. This creates a laceration hazard if the bulb breaks because it is difficult to move.
To this date, the company has received six reports of the lamp socket melting, but there have been no injuries reported.
This recall involves four styles of lamps – Dot, Flower Dot, Sports or Striped with the UPC numbers listed below.

Consumers are urged to discontinue using the recalled lamps and to return them to any Target store for a refund.
