Target and Select Brands, working in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), issued a recall of Chefmate 6-speed blenders due to a laceration risk to consumers should the plastic pitcher separate from the blade assembly.
To this date, eleven reports have been made to Target and CPSC, seven of which included serious lacerations to consumer’s hands and fingers.
The recall involves Chefmate 6-speed blenders with model BL-10, which can be located on the bottom of the base. They were sold at Target stores nationwide. Visit the CPSC Web site to view a photo of the recalled blender for reference.
Consumers are urged to take the recalled blenders back to Target to receive a refund. In the meantime, they should not be used. For more information, call Target toll-free at (800) 440-0680 or visit them online at www.Target.com.
