An estimated 22,149 Miter Saws have been recalled by Robert Bosch Tool Corp., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), because the lower guard can break posing an injury hazard to consumers.
To this date, there have been no reports of incidents or injuries involving the recalled product.
The recall involves the SkilSaw 10-inch compound miter saw, with model number 3316 and date codes 111, 112, 201, 202, 203 or 204. The items were sold at Lowes Stores nationwide, as well as OC Tanner from January through April of 2012. To view photos of the recalled items, please visit the CPSC Web site.
The CPSC urges consumers to stop using the recalled miter saw and to contact the company directly for a free replacement kit that will rectify the problem with the lower guard.
For more information, consumers are directed to call the company direct at (888) 727-6109, or visit them online at www.skiltools.com.
