Parents and child caregivers should be aware that the retailer Target is recalling 264,000 Target Home Bunny Sippy Cups due to children’s injuries.

According to a release by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Target Corporation is recalling the bunny sippy cups because the ear on the bunny top can poke a child in the eye area when the child drinks from the cup. The company has received reports of six children poked by the bunny ear during use, with three reports resulting in injuries such as cuts and bruises.

Target sold this product for $3 at stores nationwide from February 2012 to April 5, 2012.

Consumers can identify the recalled bunny sippy cups by their plastic bottom with a handle on each side and a plastic screw on lid shaped like a bunny head with one ear straight and one ear folded down. Target sold the product in a blue boy bunny model with TARGET 200020884 imprinted on the bottom and a pink girl bunny model with TARGET 200020683 imprinted on the bottom.

Consumers should immediately stop using this product and return it to any Target store for a full refund. They can contact Target at (800) 440-0680 with any questions regarding this recall.
