Walk-behind 21” lawnmowers have been recalled by American Honda in the U.S. and Canada, because the engine stop switch can malfunction and the blade can continue rotating after the handlebar blade control lever is released, posing an injury risk to the user.

The recall involves two Honda models. The lawnmowers are red and silver (HRR) and red and gray (HRX). The affected serial numbers, as well as photos of the defective items can be viewed on the CPSC Website.

To date, Honda has received 11 reports of the lawnmower’s blades malfunctioning but there has been no injuries reported.

Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled lawnmowers until they can be repaired. Consumers can contact a Honda dealer for a free repair or wait for the company to contact them with a notice. For more information about this recall, contact American Honda by calling (888) 888-3139. Or visit them online at www. Powerequiment.honda.com and look for  the “Recalls and Updates” section.
