Several products, distributed nationwide, have been recalled by Eco-Cuisine because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in the frail and elderly, young children and those with weakened immune systems.

At the time of this post there have been no reported illnesses in conjunction with this recall. According to CHS, ingredients used in the recalled products contained salmonella. A complete list of affected products can be viewed on the FDA Website.

The agency and company are working together to investigate what caused the contamination and in the meantime, production and distribution has been halted.

Consumers are urged to return the recalled products to the place of purchase to receive a refund. Additional question should be directed to Eco-Cuisine by calling (303) 402-0289.

Salmonella Symptoms

Healthy persons infected with salmonella can experience fever, diarrhea (which can be bloody), vomiting, nausea and abdominal cramping. In rare cases, the infection can get into the blood stream and produce more severe infections.
