“Nut Tree Health Mix” has been voluntarily recalled due to undeclared sulfites. People who are sensitive to sulfites are at risk of having a life-threatening reaction if these products are unknowingly consumed.
The recall involves “Nut Tree Health Mix” with DATE: SEP 28 10. The product was distributed in the metropolitan New York area.
To this date, no serious reactions have been reported in connection with this recall. Consumers should return the recalled product to the store of purchase to receive a refund.
The mislabeling was found during a sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture.
Sulfites often pose no harm, however the issue here is that the sulfites were not listed on the labels, and may cause a reaction in a person that has allergies or asthma.
