Proctor & Gamble announced a precautionary recall of its 4-Hour Decongestant Nasal Spray because the product’s formulation may not last until the expiration date listed.
The company stresses that the recall is not a result of consumer complaints.
"P&G is removing the product in question from store shelves," the company said in a statement. "Consumers who have product with the UPC codes listed below and marked with an expiration date prior to June 2013 should simply discard the affected product.
The recall involves VapoSpray 4-Hour Nasal Spray by Sinex and has UPC code 3 23900 00082 7.
Prior to June 2009, the product was sold as Sinex Nasal Spray in two varieties: the spray had a UPC Code of 3 23900 00082 7, and the Ultra Fine Mist had a UPC Code of 3 23900 00085 8.
Consumers should call P&G for more information, if needed, at 877-340-8853.
