An estimated 574,000 bottles of Infants’ Tylenol Oral Suspension, 1oz. Grape, distributed nationwide, has been recalled by McNeil as a precaution after receiving complaints from consumers who reported problems using the Infants’ TYLENOL SimpleMeasure dosing system.

SimpleMeasure includes a dosing syringe, which a parent or caregiver inserts into a protective cover, or “flow restrictor,” at the top of the bottle to measure the proper dose. In some cases, the flow restrictor was pushed into the bottle when inserting the syringe.

To date, no incidents have been reported in connection with this recall. The agency says the risk of serious risk is remote. Consumers can continue use of the medication provided the flow restrictor at the top of the bottle is still in place. However if the restrictor is pushed into the bottle, the product should NOT be used.

Consumers can call McNeil at 1-888-222-6036 for more information or to request a refund. Alternatively consumers can visit www.tylenol.com to request a refund.
