Out of an abundance of caution, as well as the product not meeting quality standards, Giant Eagle, Inc. recalled all Valu Time brand canned pumpkin along with Food Club brand pumpkin. Both brands were produced by Topco Associates, LLC.
Valu Time brand canned pumpkin – purchased after August 30, 2011
Food Club brand canned pumpkin – purchased after October 28, 2011
To date there have been no reports of illness associated with this recall, but the company is working with Topco to investigate the situation. If additional action is required customers will be notified.
Consumers are urged to NOT consume these products in any manner – including if they were used as an ingredient to make another product. View recalled product labels.
