A wrongful death suit brought against a Western New York amusement park has been settled.

The family of a double amputee Iraq veteran, killed when he fell out of a roller coaster, has reached a seven-figure settlement with Darien Lake Amusement Park .

According to lawyers, while the terms are confidential, the two young daughters of Army Sgt. James Hackemer will be beneficiaries. Hackemer lost both legs to a roadside bomb in Iraq. He was killed in July 2011, when he fell out of the roller coaster cab.

Darien Lake Amusement Park issued a statement after the settlement saying "It was important to us to ensure his children were assured of a secure future."
