Comments Off

Children’s Metal Necklaces imported by FAF Inc., have been voluntarily recalled due to high levels of cadium.

Cadmium is a known carcinogen. Like lead, it can hinder brain development in the very young, according to recent research.

To this date there have been no reports of injury associated with the recalled products.

The jewelry involved in the recall, sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores, is shaped as a metal crown or frog pendant on a metal chain and is packaged in a crown hinged box. The UPC and model Numbers are listed below.

Model # 4616-4187

UPC # 72783367144

Model # 4616-4190

UPC # 72783367147

Consumers should take the recalled jewelry from children and return the items to any Wal-Mart store for a free replacement or refund.

Consumers can contact F.A.F. Inc. at (800) 949-3311 or visit www.faf.com.

Earlier this month, CPSC addressed toxic metals in children’s jewelry.
