A Madison County man, 21, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, after he crashed into a truck.
The man was riding his off-road Yamaha motorcyle on his property in Hubbardsville when he drove into the road and struck an oncoming jeep, according to sheriff’s deputies.
He was taken to the hospital, where he died shortly after.
The truck driver suffered minor injuries in the crash.
NHSTA statistics released in September show the number of motorcycle riders or passengers killed on U.S. roads in 2007 increased 6.6 percent over 2006, while the overall number of traffic fatalities fell below the lowest numbers since 1994.
In October, the AMA urged DOT to fast track a long-overdue federal study into the causes of motorcycle crashes.
