Todson Recalls Bicycle Child Carrier Seats

Comments Off

Bike carrier seats have been recalled by Todson, working in cooperation with the CPSC, because of a safety risk involving the hinge mechanism which poses a laceration and fingertip amputation hazard.

The agency has received two reports of injury involving the recalled bike seats, to date.

The recall involves Topeak Babyseat II bicycle carrier seats with model numbers TCS2100, TCS2101 and TCS2102. The recalled seats were sold at various bicycle dealers, distributors and other stores nationwide from January 2009 through April 2012.

The agency urges consumers to stop using the recalled seats immediately and to contact the company for a free hinge cover retrofit kit. For more information on this recall, please call Todson at (800) 250-3068 or visit their Web site online at todson.com.

If you have firsthand experience with this product that resulted in an injury please report it to SaferProducts.gov.
