Recall: Evenflo Convertible High Chairs

Comments Off

Convertible high chairs have been voluntarily recalled by Evenflo Inc., in cooperation with the CPSC, because the activity tray can unexpectedly detach and allow the child to fall, posing an injury risk.

The company has received 18 reports of the trays detaching, to date. Eight reports involved children falling from the chairs and suffering bumps and bruises.

The recall involves Evenflo high chairs that convert from a high chair to a toddler-size table and chair. Below are the model names and numbers affected by the recall. Also, the CPSC Web site has photos of the recalled high chairs for easy reference.

The recalled items were sold at Walmart and Toys “R” Us stores nationwide from December 2011 to June 2012.

The agency urges consumers to contact Evenflo for a replacement tray with installation and use instructions. For more information, contact Evenflo at (800) 233-5921 or visit them online at http://safety.evenflo.com.
