Nautilus Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has issued a voluntary recall of Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells due to a failure in the selector dial which can cause the plats to fall, posing an injury hazard to the user.
To this day, the company has received 16 reports of the weight selector dial failing. In three of those cases, the user suffered injuries to the foot or leg.
The recall involves black steel dumbbells sold in pairs with a weight capacity of 10 to 90 pounds. Date-of-manufacture codes in the serial number range from 1111 through 1136 and are affected by this recall. The date code is the four-digit code following the letters "MAG" in the serial number.
Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled items and to contact the company for a free repair kit. For more information, call Nautilus direct at (800) 416-7271 or visit them online at www.bowflex.com.
