Remington has issued a voluntary recall of electric leaf blowers, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), because the impeller can break and strike the user during use, posing an injury hazard.

To this date, there has been one reported injury that resulted in bruises and cuts to the user of the recalled blower. Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled products and to contact the company for a free replacement.

The recall involves the following Remington electric leaf blower models: RM180B, item number 41AA180G983and serial numbers ranging from S1E131XK0001 through S1E162XK2008. They were manufactured between May 13, 2011 and May 16, 2012. For reference, the CPSC has photos of the recalled products.
