Lapel Pins Recalled By Build-A-Bear Workshop

Comments Off

Build-A-Bear Workshop, working in cooperation with the CPSC, has issued a voluntary recall of more than 26,000 Love, Hugs, Peace lapel pins in the U.S. and 2,000 in Canada due to excessive levels of lead in the surface paint.

If ingested, lead can be toxic to small children. However, to date, the company has not received any reports of illness associated with this recall.

The recall involves 1.5 inch lapel pins that feature a heart, bear head and peace sign graphic, positioned in front of a globe – with the words “Love Hugs Peace” at the bottom that have model number 014908.

Consumers should take the recalled pins away from children and return them to any Build-A-Bear Workshop store to receive a $5 coupon. If you don’t have a pin to return, you should contact the company for alternate refund instructions.

Questions should be directed to Build-A-Bear Workshop by calling (866) 236-5683. Alternatively, you can visit them online at www.buildabear.com.
