Hand Trucks Recalled by Harper Trucks

Comments Off

Harper Trucks, in cooperation with the CPSC, issued a voluntary recall of nearly 300,000 hand trucks because the tires can explode if overinflated causing the wheel hub to break which poses an injury hazard to others.

To date, there have been 19 reports of overinflated tires exploding which have resulted in 19 injuries which include loss of sight in one eye, laceration and broken bones.

The recall involves five model numbers of Harper Trucks hand trucks and a list can be found on the CPSC Web site, along with photos for your reference.

The items were sold at Home Depot and Sam’s Club stores.

Consumers are urged to not use the recalled items and to contact Harper Trucks for a free repair kit. For more information regarding this recall, please call Harper Trucks directly at (800) 835-4099. Alternatively, you can visit them online at www.HarperTrucks.com.
