Fisher-Price Recalls Toys

Comments Off

Mattel Inc.’s, Fisher-Price division, announced a worldwide recall of nearly one million toys on Wednesday, due to excessive amounts of lead in toy paint.

There are 83 types of toys included in the recall such as the popular Elmo, Dora and Big Bird. The recall involves plastic toys made by a Chinese vendor and sold in the United States between May and August.

Consumers of recalled toys can exchange it for a voucher of another product for the same value.

This is the first recall for Fisher-Price and their parent company Mattel, involving lead paint. However, this is the latest of many in a wave of recalls that has raised safety concerns about Chinese-made products.
