Fire prompts recall of Big Movers Super Car toy trucks given away with t-shirt purchase at Kohl’s

Comments Off

Parents and caregivers of children should be aware of a recall involving a toy truck that can catch fire and potentially cause property damage and burn injuries.

Happy Shirts, of Honolulu, Hawaii is recalling 9,000 Big Movers Super Car toy trucks after receiving one report of the toy truck catching on fire and three reports of the toy truck smoldering when consumers inserted the battery. There have been no reports of injuries. The manufacturer has determined the incidents are due to faulty connections in the battery compartment.

Consumers may have received one of these Big Movers Super Car toy trucks as a free gift with purchase of a boys’ Big Movers navy blue t-shirt at Kohl’s stores across the United States or online at www.Kohls.com. The toy trucks are blue in color and four inches long with oversized tires and a flashing light on top. There is a red, yellow and blue logo on the hood of the toy truck.

According to a release by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), consumers should take the toy truck away from their child and remove the battery. They can call toll-free (855) 354-2779 for instructions on returning the toy truck and receiving a full refund.
