Children's Chairs and Stools Recalled Due to Lead Hazard

Elegant Gifts Mart has issued a voluntary recall of Children’s Chairs and Stools, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) because the surface paint contains excessive levels of lead which violates federal law.

Lead-based paint is a major source of lead poisoning in children and can also affect adults. You can read more about lead hazards on the CPSC Web site.

There have been no reports of injuries or incidents in connection with this recall, to date.

The recall includes 1,600 children’s folding chairs and 1,300 stools that have yellow metal tube frames. The item numbers involved in the recall are "JCA8036" and "JCA8037" which can be found on a white sticker underneath the items. Photos can be viewed on the CPSC Web site.

Consumers are urged to return the recalled tables and chairs to any 1 to Seven store or to contact Elegant Gifts Mart for a refund. The items should not be used.
