BrightLight Blankets Recalled

Comments Off

BrightLight blankets have been voluntarily recalled by IdeaVillage, working in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commision (CPSC), because the batteries can overheat, which poses a burn hazard.

To this date, the company has received four incident reports of the batteries overheating. One incident involved a report of a minor burn injury. Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled blankets and to contact the company for a free replacement blanket using the information below.

The recalled blankets – sold exclusively at www.BrightLightPillow.com – are 40-inch by 60-inch white, polyester blankets with LED lights that change color. The blankets also contain a battery compartment inside a zippered pouch on the edge of the blanket.

For more information and to request a free placement, consumers should contact the company directly at (866) 655-4342 or by visiting them online at www.brightlightblanketrecall.com.
