Basic Rhythms DrumToys Recalled

The Step2 Company, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada, announced a recall of Basic Rhythms Drum toys.

The plastic clips used to attach the drumsticks to the drum can break releasing small pieces. These pieces present a choking hazard to young children.

The drums, intended for preschool age children, were sold at Toys R Us and various other retail stores nationwide from August 2009 through March 2010.

* Item numbers are for identical product. Item 890232 has three languages on the packaging, Item 890212 has only one language on the packaging.

Consumers should take the recalled toys from children and contact the company at (866) 860-1887, or visit their Web site at www.step2.com for a free replacement.
