AutoZone, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of approximately 140,000 Valucraft Booster Cables.

The booster cable clamps were assembled wrong resulting in reverse polarity which can pose an electrical shock and explosion hazard to users.

The company has received four incident reports of reverse polarity that resulted in minor property damage.

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled cables immediately and to return them to the nearest AutoZone for a full refund or free replacement.

The recall includes the Valucraft eight gauge and ten gauge booster cables that have “8GA” or “10GA” printed on them.
